Head Coach Quentin Short
Bio:
Coach Quentin Short is a native of Morrow, Ohio, where he attended Little Miami High School, and he was a three-sport athlete. He received a football scholarship and attended Concord University in Athens, West Virginia and was a three starter on the offensive line for the Mountain Lions while earning a bachelor’s in education.
Short has twenty-four years of coaching experience that includes stops in West Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida (past eighteen years). In 2019 he became the Head Coach at Stoneman Douglas High School, where he had been an assistant coach since 2014. He led Douglas to two district championships and four playoff appearances during his tenure. During his final season at Stoneman Douglas Coach Short led the Eagles to their first playoff win in ten years and was selected as the 2022 FCA Bobby Bowden Coach of the Year.
Following the 2022 season, Short was named Head Coach at Piper High School. He has guided the Bengals to a 16-7 record with back-to-back playoff appearances and a district championship in his first two seasons, tying a school record of ten wins in 2024. He was named Co-Coach of the Year for Broward County by the Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald. Additionally, he received the Miami Dolphins "2024 Coach of the Week" for week six. Coach Short has established a winning culture that emphasizes teamwork, discipline, and personal growth on and off the field.
Quentin Short has been married for over sixteen years and has three kids and two grandkids. He resides in Lauderhill, Fl with his wife Linda, daughter Taylor and granddaughter Soleil.
